Helium Foundation has announced that WeatherXM, a community-powered decentralised weather network, has selected the Helium Network to power their IoT (internet of things) solutions. qnectd, an IoT solutions provider for smart cities, farms, and buildings, has also chosen the Helium Network for their IoT solutions. Additionally, KitchenOS, a food safety solutions provider, has decided to use the Helium Network to power their IoT solutions.
The companies are to select the Helium Network’s community-powered global wireless network, that delivers LoRaWAN connectivity. WeatherXM, qnectd, and KitchenOS join a number of companies that have chosen to power their devices through the LoRaWAN network, offering decentralised, secure, and accessible connectivity.
WeatherXM is building the growing community owned weather network, with over 3,500 weather stations deployed by individuals around the world already. Backed by blockchain technology, WeatherXM leverages token rewards to incentivize the creation of weather network. With the Helium Network, WeatherXM can expand its reach, delivering hyper-local weather data to individuals and services worldwide while keeping wireless communication costs minimum.
